About this course

A first course in normative ethics. We read short, dense primary sources across six positions and stress-test each against six contemporary problems: autonomy in medicine, criminal punishment, climate obligations, AI moral patiency, distributive justice, and intergenerational debt. Two short essays, one long final paper, proctored oral viva.
