01 — The role

Why this role exists at EduRankAI

Lead the product engineering teams behind edurankai.in, the applicant portal, and AquinTutor. Three Engineering Managers report to you. Outcomes you own: ship velocity, code quality, user-visible reliability, recruiting at the senior IC level. This is a role for an engineer who became a leader on purpose, not by accident. You should still be the person on your team most likely to spot the design flaw in a complicated RFC.

02 — The work

What you will own

  • 01 Lead three product engineering teams through their EMs — frontend, backend, mobile.
  • 02 Own quarterly OKRs and the product roadmap jointly with the PM org.
  • 03 Own the front-end and back-end architecture for everything user-facing.
  • 04 Hire Senior ICs and Engineering Managers.
  • 05 Set and enforce the code review + testing bar across product engineering.
  • 06 Own production reliability for the product layer (uptime, error budgets, perceived performance).
  • 07 Run quarterly engineering health reviews — retention, burnout signals, on-call fairness.

Who thrives here

  • You have led a product engineering org of at least 15 ICs and 2 EMs for at least 2 years.
  • You have shipped a feature in the last 12 months that you can describe with a specific user-impact metric.
  • You can name three engineers whose careers materially benefited from working with you.
  • You can describe the last time you reversed a technical decision after new information.
  • You write your own RFCs.
